Now I have to figure out how to make it "free" - any suggestions or advice?
Well, tomorrow is "supposed" to be the day Fate's Exchange is online; however, I may have just pressed "Publish and Save" thinking it would give me further options . . . oops. Thankfully, I uploaded the edited content with its live TOC, but not the newest cover. We'll see if that comes out tonight instead (I hope not) and that updating the cover is simple enough to do.

I am happy to once again be home, though after a few nights back, I am missing the puppies! Not that the whole "sleeping on my head" thing was great during the warmth of summer, but still. I can imagine how awesome it would have been in the winter!
Best part of being away, house-sitting for my sister while she was on a cruise with her husband (Happy Anniversary Heidi and Jason!), was that the three dogs and two cats we adopted for a week were like built-in babysitters. I can't believe how much editing I managed to accomplish, not to mention writing - Fate's Exchange is now on its final read-through, and Casting Light (third in the Cast from Power Series) is partway through chapter ten. If only I had all day every day to write . . . Dreaming, I know, but we all have to have something to aspire to. Unfortunately, despite the amount of work I completed during my time away, there is always something I seem to have neglected to think of, and I've pushed the release date for Fate's Exchange from August 15th to August 22nd. I am confident that this is the best thing to do. Why sell myself - or more importantly, my readers, who have been waiting so patiently - short? If I can't say that I am publishing my best work, I don't want to publish at all. What do you think? Should authors pick a point to say, "I'm done", no matter if they think it isn't yet up to par? Or should they hold out the extra time (in my case, a week) to make sure it is better than being "just okay"? Sasha Leigh Well, it's been a fun time away, but only three more sleeps until I go home. Aside from the dog who likes to sleep on my head - very aptly named "Chewy" - it's been great, a vacation without having to go away. A lot of writing and editing has been accomplished - I never thought the end could look so clear. I also found I LOVE God of War games... well, that I love the third installment. I've already wrapped the first two (I was young too).
Check out the Twisted Fate Series updates to learn more about Fate's Exchange, where the novel will be available, and when. I'm so excited to publish, which is entirely different than posting to critique sites or having a friend or family member "read it". I mean, they don't know what kind of feedback an author needs, such as wordiness, adverbs, flow, etc. Unless they are authors, they understand one thing: Is it good? Well, I'm about to find out! Throughout the week leading up to publishing Fate's Exchange, I will be updating Mythic Words with a checklist, marking what needs to be done and what I have accomplished each day leading up the day of publication. Any suggestions? Don't be shy. I love checking "to-do's" as "done". Cheers! Sasha Leigh |
