Just an update to the covers - it would have done me well to remember that I have a very talented big sister who is a very gifted shutterbug!!! Not to mention, she can draw/paint just about anything . . . I'm so excited :) Going to head out to the lake and visit during our days off with my big sis and nephew, and maybe take advantage of the beautiful scenery! Yay!
Trying to find covers for a book isn't so hard, really. But when you have an entire series mapped out in your head, how can you pick something without keeping the next one in mind??? It's IMPOSSIBLE!!
I have spent most of the last two days trying to find ideas for the Twisted Fate Series, not just for a single book, but for the whole shebang. I have drawn (I love art) an emblem for 'Twisted Fate'; however, what do I do when I can't find the perfect set of images to purchase? I can't just pick one if, once it comes time to make another, it won't fit anymore, and it will appear as though the books are completely unrelated. It'd be a waste of money, not to mention time. Should I leave it blank and wait? Should I waste the time and money? I guess the best thing to do is wait . . . or use free images while paying attribution, only wasting time. Who knows? Maybe an image I saw today will be perfect tomorrow? Let's hope! Everyone cross their fingers and wish me to stop being a perfectionist :) Yay! I have just finished the third installment to Twisted Fate, Fate's Demand!! I don't know if anyone but a writer can attest to the wonderful jubilation a person feels at accomplishing 'The End' on a story, or the trepidation at having to start the nerve-wracking 'editing' process so many try to avoid. Personally, I'm setting this aside so that I can complete the third novel in the Unbound series, and hopefully come back with a pair of fresh (and critical) eyes. Don't worry (you know who you are) - I will type it up first so you can read what happens next! :)
Since this is my first official update, let's catch up: Fate's Exchange (Book One): Alyssa Frank dies trying to save herself from a brutal attack and is given another chance at life. She needsmore than one, however, before finally making the right choice, but her prize is the first-time love. Unfortunately, Death can't be cheated, but with angels protecting her and the Sisters of Fate orchestrating the circumstances, perhaps it can be thwarted with an exchange? The most terrible thing about first love, for most of us, is that it isn't our last. But like there is always a right choice to be made, everything you do provides you with experience you never would have gained otherwise. Pulled Away (Book 1.5): David is back in his true form and suffering the consequences of his choices while with Alyssa. When his love for Alyssa keeps him from completing his duties as a Brother, the First demotes him until he can find a way to reconcile his loss, and he is sent to a new school formed for the Pure Souls to act as an instructor. The Sisters of Fate need his help again, though, to protect Alyssa, and he is reinstated shortly afterwards. Without his mortal form, how can he help Alyssa? Join him, along with the First and Lachesis, as they traipse through the Void and find the solution that will bring him back to Alyssa's side. Fate's Return (Book Two): A year has passed and Alyssa remembers nothing of her experiences with death. She remembers only her love for David, and the drive she has to 'prepare'. For what, she doesn't know, but she feels that she must. With Tina gone, Suzie is back at her side, coercing her into having fun and dating. She has also gotten a new job alongside three newcomers: Gabe, Mike, and Raffy. When strange things begin to happen to her, she feels isolated and alone, almost as though she is going crazy. Events lead to unbelievable discoveries, and nobody is who they say they are. Can she learn the truth before her memories return? Who will help her and who is waiting for the chance to take her out for good? Fate's Demand (Book Three): Evil. Shadows. Soul-stealing Darkness. It's all real! Alyssa doesn't know what to believe the morning after her eighteenth birthday party. Her mom was hospitalized as Darkness tried to take her to get to Alyssa. She has an inner light in her heart that can kill Darkness upon touch, and oh, let's not forget - she's supposed to be the leader of a new creation called the Pure Souls? WTF? This can't be happening! Of course, with Darkness wanting her dead, there is only one place this can lead her to go: Heaven. But what do you do when Heaven isn't Heaven at all? When the boy you love is disguised as another, and no one will tell you who? Why, you go to Hell, and you find out who the Dark Souls are. How can you be destined to lead them if you are destined to lead the Pure Souls as well? The final books in the series will be titled Fate's Revenge, Fate's Disguise, and Fate's War (or Fate's Finale). There are a couple of novella's planned as well: one for the Sister's of Fate and one for the First Brother. Each Brother has a story, though, which I will post onto my website exclusively in the near future. I hope you all like the world I've created, as I can't get it out of my head - the characters argue over everything until I put that pen to paper, so eighter way, I will finish. I have to. Unfortunately, only the first novel is up for reading at the moment. You can find it in full on Wattpad or Authonomy. When I finish with editing, I will either begin querying literary agents or self-publish - I haven't yet decided as both have pros and cons. Perhaps I will try the first and then, if it doesn't pan out, move towards the second. If you would like a sneak peak, send me a message! :) |
