I have been so immersed in Twisted Fate lately, editing and promoting, that I had to start writing Fate's Disguise (Book Five). I couldn't sleep! Every time I laid my head down, a new idea would pop up. It got to the point where my light was flickering on and off like a child who has just discovered the light switch I was scribbling ideas on so many stickies. Finally, I just used my voice app on my phone since I don't need the lights for that.
It was odd, though. I made the decision to stop writing longhand so that I could cut out the process of having to type up what I'd written after the fact, and the moment I pulled open a new document . . . I drew a blank. All those stickies and carefully laid outline sitting in my head did me no good, so I picked up a pen and opened up a new notebook . . . two chapters came out! Crazy, right? I wasn't having this problem with Casting Light, the third book in the Cast From Power series. But since this is the second-to-last installment, I figure, "Why mess with what's working?"
So now, in between editing and learning the ropes of marketing, I will be writing . . . and typing :( But it's better than having writer's block :)
