I haven't finished the series, but the first book of Cast from Power is now available on Wattpad, one chapter at a time :) I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do :)
Over the past week, I have been busy with the release of Fate's Exchange, the first novel in the Twisted Fate Series; however, I have not forgotten about Cast from Power! Each day, before working on promotion for my new release (unless I was at work), I made sure the minimum daily word count was met. For me, that's two double-sided handwritten pages, which means that I managed to complete an entire chapter of Casting Light. I am now just past the halfway mark of writing the third installment for the series, and I can't wait to dig back in.
Publication will have to wait though. Right now I am concentrating my efforts on editing and formatting the novels in the Twisted Fate Series. But for those of you who can't wait to start another journey, check out Casting Power, the first novel in the Cast From Power Series, here. It is currently listed as Forsaken, Book One in Unbound, because of the recent change in name, and as soon as the cover/logo is complete, I will update that where applicable.
I hope you all take a gander. This series is still my baby, and I can't wait to share it with everyone!
Cast from Power is the new title for the series, and Casting Power is the new title to replace the first book in the series, Forsaken. It's taken a bit longer to reveal, and I apologize; however, I have finished rewriting the second book, Casting Shadows (previously Forgotten), and begun writing Casting Light.
New covers and a reworking of the Facebook Page for the series will follow soon.
I am just finishing the editing of Fate's Exchange in Twisted Fate so that the first in the series can be published as per my foreseen timeline; however, I have decided on the new title for Unbound, along with titles for each book within the series. The logo is nearly complete, and I will post it as soon as it is ready.
On another note, I have finally finished re-writing the second novel for this series, and began the third. I find that while editing one, it is best to write the other - keeps my focus removed from the storyline lone enough to remain objective. Also, the book covers are a WIP now, but I do have the photos purchased and preliminary outlines created. I can't wait to finish and share with everyone!
Hope you all are having as productive of a summer as I have - can't believe I found time to write, edit, and study!
So I was looking up Unbound today on Google to make sure that I was not being a copycat - sucks to be me! Rachel Vincent already has the name for an Unbound Series. So, considering that my first novel of the series is called Forsaken, and the word fits the series as a whole, I looked that up. I found The Forsaken - not a big deal. But then the wind was knocked right out of me. I scrolled down a couple more links and found this:
http://www.amazon.com/Forgotten-Book-3-Forsaken-Series-ebook/dp/B008190DG8Same name of series, same title, even though it is book three and not two. So much for the perfect name :)
Now I am back to the drawing board. I thought maybe Tethered (or Untethered), or even back to Awakened... but I do not LOVE either. If anyone has a good idea, drop me a line. I would love to hear suggestions.
Hey all. I just wanted to provide an update for those who were wondering. March has been a busy month in my life. Writing, studying, working, and motherhood have all overlapped, and unfortunately, writing has taken a bit of a back-burner along with keeping my site and blogs updated. After April 2, 2014, things will mellow drastically.
Well, I have edited all but two chapters of Forsaken, which means that I am almost finished and determined to begin on Forgotten. Once those are both edited, they will be available to readers via Smashwords and Amazon/Create Space. Also to come is a cover collage and a few short stories. Look for more in April!
I have finally made the official Facebook Page for the Unbound Series! It's so exciting, I can't wait to play . . . no. Edit first, play later. Right? That's what I should do. :) In all fairness, I did get through four whole pages today (at work). I'm hoping to at least finish chapter seventeen after Calli goes to bed. Unfortunately, I have a dream that I had last night which won't get out of my head, and that's never a good thing - or maybe it is, considering Unbound and Twisted Fate began that way . . . Okay, back on topic here. Unbound has a Facebook page. It isn't much more than a picture and a description at this point, but I will work very hard to increase its appeal very soon. If you would like to visit, the link is on my contact page, but just in case you don't want to click away - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Unbound-Series/529972707034980?
I'm so excited! :)
So I've managed to get through editing to the end of chapter sixteen and, with exception to the opening paragraphs, it remains unchanged. A lot of excess has been cut but I love it :) All completed chapters are uploaded to Wattpad as my progress continues, so if you feel like taking a gander (and making me smile), go take a look. Read, enjoy, and be happy knowing that your support matters.
Okay, so I know I was told not to touch Forsaken (plot and content), but I couldn't help it. the beginning wasn't working! It originally started with a prologue, which I nixed and incorporated into the story because, well, I hate prologues. So do most readers and agents/publishers. Then it opened with a dream sequence, which, let's face it, has been done. It was unique, though, I promise (still the opening in the link to the story) :)
Anyway, I have rewritten the start again for what I hope to be the last time. I will be reading through the rest during editing while ignoring the beginning chapter until all of that is done. After all, I have to finish rewriting the end, which has now become the beginning of Book Two: Forgotten. I hope to post the completed edit this week for anyone waiting to read it. For now, if you would like to see the new opening, look under the 'Novels' section under the Unbound tab (top right), and I have posted an excerpt.
This doesn't really belong here, but I am so excited to have learnt how to make fire text! I need practice, obviously, but I am going to use it for the covers for sure. At least for Forsaken, while I plan to search for water effects for Forgotten. I can't explain why without giving the story away, but it's awesome news (to me). Thank you K.C. for pointing me in the direction of those tutorials :)
